AFFILIATES

Assist in sponsoring and conducting educational programs and soliciting door prizes

for special board events.  This committee is open to Affiliate members only.

ASSOCIATION OUTREACH COMMITTEE

To establish contacts with the leadership of Adult Community and Condominium Associations

within Ocean County creating and maintaining a positive and productive working relationship

between memberREALTORS® and target Association leadership.  To promote, enhance and

develop plans for improved communications including, but not limited to dissemination of

Association By-laws, POS’s and Association concerns to the OCBR membership and make

such covenants available for Member download on the OCBRwebsite, Association Governing

Documents and Covenants.  Committee members will also provide advisory support for

Association/Adult community activities and will actively participate as a member of the Community

Associations Institute.

BUDGET/FINANCE

Responsible for preparing annual budget and supervising the financial activities of the Board.

BYLAWS

Reviews the Ocean County Board of REALTORS® Bylaws for conformance with the Bylaws of

the National Association of REALTORS® and recommends other revisions where appropriate.

CIRCLE OF EXCELLENCE AWARDS CLUB

Reviews all Circle of Excellence Award applications for compliance with the rules and regulations

of the New Jersey Association of REALTORS®’ Circle of Excellence Award Club.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Responsible for creating and sending press releases to the local newspapers and radio stations

to promote Board activities and submitting articles and ideas for the Board Newspaper, the

Ocean County REALTOR®.

EDUCATION

Provides timely and quality education programs for REALTOR® and REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®

members on ethics, laws of agency, environmental issues, professional skills development,

fair housing and fair business practices.

GRIEVANCE

Reviews arbitration and ethics complaints submitted by members or general public and determines

whether they should be dismissed or referred to the Professional Standards Committee for a hearing. 

(LIMITED AVAILABILITY) HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES responsible for finding diverse cultural lending

opportunities from lenders and educating the members as to the benefits and requirements of these

programs. Also Educates the membership on the elimination of housing discrimination in real estate,

sponsoring an annual poster and essay contest for Ocean County school children.

LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS/ REALTORS® POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE (RPAC)/IMPAC

Monitors proposed and existing legislation and regulations impacting the real estate industry.  

Responsible for collecting voluntary RPAC contributions from Board members and planning

the annual RPAC auction.

JSMLS COMMITTEE

To oversee the operation of the Multiple Listing Service.  (LIMITED AVAILABILITY).

NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION

Conducts the monthly indoctrination program for all new REALTOR® and

REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® applicants.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

Serves on hearing panels, responsible for deciding matters regarding violations of the

REALTOR® Code of Ethics and requests for arbitration. (PREREQUISITE: 3-Years of Grievance Committee Participation.)

REALTOR®/REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® OF THE YEAR

Review nominations to meet the criteria for REALTOR® and REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® of the Year. 

Applicants then represent the Ocean County Board of REALTORS® on the State level.

(PREREQUISITE: Past REALTOR®/REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® of the Year recipient).

REALTORS® COMMUNITY SERVICE

Provides meaningful public service programs to enhance the quality of life in the county and

show that REALTORS® care about the total well being of the communities in which they work.

REALTORS® RISK MANAGEMENT

To monitor risk issues, and other legal topics of concern, including license law issues, and

make recommendations for educational programs or other ways to share the information

with and among the members.

STRATEGIC PLANNING

Monitors the progress of the Board’s committees to assure they are on task and in compliance

with the strategic plan, goals and objectives as set for each year by the Board.

WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT

Develops, updates and implements a professionally designed website that is the ultimate source

for REALTOR® information.
